The Boulder X was designed as a rugged approach and hiking shoe to take you to the top of that next difficult scramble.  A rough-out leather upper with double stitching is designed to take the abuse of the mountains while a Vibram sole and high cushion EVA midsole provide grip and cushion to confidently smear and edge your way up the climbs.  Using the same to the toe lacing system as their venerable Mythos climbing shoe,  it is easy to adjust the tightness anywhere on your foot and wrap the ankle for excellent heel hold.
